Week of 3/2-3/8
On Monday, Life’s Toolbox visited My Day Counts for an in-person update on previously
assigned projects in their LIFE Training Activity Program. It was wonderful to see everyone in
the same room, participants and instructors alike. Upon seeing Dr. Hatala, participants clapped
and shared what they appreciated about the experiential activities Life’s Toolbox provided.
Over the past 5 weeks, they were able to: sort and categorize thousands of buttons, create and
organize binders of die cuts, and put together complex puzzles that they additionally divided
into smaller more manageable sections. We are blown away with how amazing the end result
was. Dr. Hatala was able to educate the participants on how these activities focused on various
skills that will carry over in their daily lives. She also brought in additional projects such as
creating yarn balls, setting up Kumihimo bracelets, and providing clear beads to count and
organize. In the next few weeks, Ana will be conducting an interview skills workshop for their
Community Employment Services program as well as providing mock interviews for the
participants. A special thanks to My Day Counts for collaborating with us on these projects!
