Last weekend, Life’s Toolbox had a great day full of fun at Tewinkle Park in Costa Mesa. There, Life’s Toolbox had the opportunity to set up a booth TASK, which is a family fun day and resource fair for individuals with disabilities, as well as their families. During the TASK event, Life’s Toolbox was teaching life skills by making a “mini greenhouse.” Participants then had the opportunity to select from a variety of cards to say “thank you” or “Happy Mother’s Day” to the loved one’s in their life. After they made their cards, they then got the choice of 4 different activities: making another card, making a kumihimo bracelet, planting a flower or vegetable in a pot, or making an “all about my mom” poster. We had a number of participants and are so grateful for everyone who came out. We were able to network with other vendors to learn what type of services they provide as well. Life’s Toolbox is so appreciative for the volunteers that helped set up and tear down the booth, as well as ensuring that everything ran smoothly throughout the event so that we could serve as many families as possible…we couldn’t have done it without them!
